Read This if You’re Feeling Discouraged

Scrolling through TikTok this past week, I noticed a lot of videos about working so hard and receiving little reward. While I understand the frustration, it’s scary how common this feeling is. After seeing about five of these TikToks, my mood was also affected. I’m not knocking anyone that’s posted these types of videos. I think it’s great for people to be vulnerable. It’s just the negativity that can easily spread, along with seeing the large amount of people going through the same issue.

If you’re here, then I know you’re not feeling too great about how things are going. Whether it’s work, school, or a goal you’re trying to accomplish, I made this post for you!

Here are some things that have helped me maintain a positive mindset:

Morning Routine

I notice that when I wake up early enough to have a proper morning, I feel so much better the entire day. Cooking a delicious breakfast, getting dressed, and pausing to get into a positive mindset. I love journaling, texting friends and family, and reading affirmations from the I Am app. I’ve personalized the app widget on my home screen to show me the “succeed in your career” category all day! The app also gives me notifications hourly so that I stay in the best mindset.

The goal is to feel calm, motivated, and in an abundance mindset. Shifting the focus of the day from what needs to be done to what is already there is one way to prevent despair getting ahold of you when you start the day.

Surround Yourself With Positivity

I know this can be really difficult if you’re living or working with Negative Nancys, but who you follow and what media you consume makes a huge impact on your mental state. If what you watch, listen to, and read puts you in a good mood, you’re going to be constantly uplifted!

I’m currently adding songs to this “it girl affirmations” playlist for us to listen to when we need empowerment. I stopped listening to a lot of music that made me feel aggressive or angry. Sometimes songs like that can be fun, but if you’re in a high stress environment, then the less negative emotions you consume, the better.

If you’re sensitive, don’t consume news. If you’re an empath, avoid true crime. I used to fear being ignorant, but protecting your energy is the most important thing you can do for your productivity and wellbeing.

Attitude Shift

This one is the most difficult, because how can we feel good about rejection and obstacles? We all have setbacks, and even if we don’t, we can make excuses to why we aren’t where we want to be.

The videos I was referring to earlier in this post were content creators that were unhappy about how much effort they put in and getting little views, likes, and followers after posting. Any goal, or anything that’s worth working for, requires a lot of hard work and consistency. No matter how much time or energy you put into something, you’re not always going to get ideal results quickly.

Once you start doubting yourself or letting these outside forces make you feel unworthy of what you want, you’re heading towards giving up.

The only thing that can keep you going when everyone else decides to quit, is an attitude shift.

It’s important to speak to yourself like this:

  • Rejection is redirection.
  • I am closer to my goal every day.
  • I am constantly growing in my chosen field.

I hope these tips are helpful if you’re ever feeling down. It’s normal to get sad or doubtful sometimes, but I got your back! On my social media, I’ll always keep my posts optimistic, and I hope my videos can brighten your day. Thanks so much for reading ♡
